Dhannsk ChaarPaai started by Anita started off her journey with street animals in Singapore. She adopted her dog , a Singapore Special from Action for Singapore Dogs 8 years ago. Hari has been through thick and thin with Anita and has watched her three children grow up. Hari grew part of her family and today Hari and Anita's rescued cat flies home with them to India.

Anita's love and passion for street animals is an undying one. She loves walking shelter dogs in her free time and unlike many who are do not want to take on tough work or are not too keen to spend their time walking rounds after rounds of shelter animals, this was something Anita loved to do.

Anita returned to India to fulfill her lifelong passion. She has setup a shelter in Kazhipattur for street and rescued animals in need.  She is the founding member and managing trustee of Dhannsk Chaarpaai with her husband and daughters and helper support run the show.

Dhannsk Chaarpaai is a humble and heartfelt animal trust dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray dogs in need. At present, the trust shelters 23 canine residents—each one with a unique story of struggle. Some are elderly and abandoned, some have suffered injuries or accidents, while others are battling chronic health issues that demand ongoing medical attention. For all of them, Dhannsk Chaarpaai offers a second chance at life—filled with care, comfort, and dignity.
